The Karragara Community Garden consists of two areas. 1. The Kitchen Garden at 96 The Esplanade and 2. an acre at 17-35 Treasure Island Avenue for a Food forest garden.
The gardens have been started to provide the community with a place to meet, grown organic fruit and vegetables, to learn and improve their health and enjoy the natural beauty of island living.
Construction of the garden started in November 2015 and has been a work in progress.
We have a diverse group of members including builders, permaculturalists, artists and writers and have in excess of 60 members.

Garden is open at all times and welcomes visitors
Working bees most Wednesday mornings and the 4th Saturday of the month in the afternoon.
Hold monthly education afternoons on the 2nd Saturday of the month as well as a plant stall and afternoon tea.
Annual membership is $10 and gives members subsidised entry to lectures and workshops.
